Would PPG&S make a difference?

I'm sure this has been brought up before, but I couldn't find it, so forgive me if that is so. Being that PP is so anti-knife/weapon, would they even help you get your money back once they found out it was for a knife sale? Unless it's a kitchen knife set or something less weapon-like to them, I would think you're out of luck either way. Wouldn't it be smarter to not use them at all? I always pay G&S if given the option but it's not usually the option with most sales on here. I would think (& correct me if I'm wrong) that Zelle would be better since it goes directly through your bank & I've been able to get chargebacks from my bank when I didn't receive my goods. This was for non-knife sales though so I'm really not sure if it would work.

I would not use zelle for anything ever. Its great that your bank has given you money back, but legally they don't have to. There are zero Consumer protections. I think you are better off with PayPal using a credit card and not linked to your bank account. Alternatively link it to an account just for that purpose that only has limited funds in it in case PayPal gets shady again.

If you need consumer protection, you should choose a different service. Not all banks "partner" with Zelle - so experiences will vary.
I have but one experience with Zelle - trying to set up an account. Their platform was not able to accommodate my name. After multiple tries I called...after over an hour on the phone, and dealing with 3 levels of customer support, their best suggestion was to change my name on my bank account and try again. 😖

Yes, they refund you with a knife sale that goes wrong. I and others here have used G&S, had something happen, and got the money back. That is why I only buy with G&S.

Okay, that's what I was wondering. Thanks for the info

If you caught this scam quickly, as most seem to do after sending money, you would not even need to bring up what the purchase was. All you would have to do was say you mistakenly sent to the wrong address, or explain the scam. Both are hard to do if you were sending a gift (PPFF)to a good friend or family whom you should know well.
In general scammers(using the present scam) are going to shy away from G&S threads, that could lead to trouble, when they have such easy pickings with FF

It would absolutely help
They may be "anti-2a" (including anything remotely considered a weapon) but they will still extend buyer protections if you use the service correctly.
