Would there be any interest in a Mini 940/940-1?

I'm sure plenty of people would.

I wish Benchmade made more "keychain" type/size/weight knives. Something along the size of a Dragonfly or Manbug. The Mini-Grip is a bit bigger than I like to carry in my watch pocket.

IMO the 940 is about the best combination of blade length, handle length, and slimness in a lightweight package on the market. A ton of cutting edge in a package that you often forget you are carrying. I personally have no desire for a smaller version, but can understand those who desire one that live and work in more restrictive environments.

Well both ends are interested so Benchmade should make the 940 mini and 940 large and see how they sell, I carry my 940 most days ( unless trying another blade) and I think the mini would sell like crazy as some earlier posts said 3inch blades fit most needs, but some guys just want a huge folding knife.

I would love to see a mini 940 or 943. I would not want the blade or the handle get any slimmer, just shorter. Maybe 2.9 blade length, same blade height. It would feel more stout due to the proportions and small blades are very practical not intimidating for most urban EDC situations. The problem is the small blade knives currently available are not the designs I want to carry. If they made a mini 940, 940-1, 943, or 761 and I would have to own them....all of them.

The 940-1 is my most carried knife. Nearly disappearing in my pocket and so lightweight.
I could see a mini about ½” shorter in frame & blade; 1 inch overall. Problem for me is I don’t know if I would plunk down a fist full of dollars for a smaller size even though I like the concept. I usually like the bigger folders but a mini 940 really appeals to me. Maybe even thinner behind the edge for stellar cutting.

That's exactly the way I feel.

Right. The 940, 940-1 and 943 are fantastic as they are. Some of the best.
I also want smaller ones now too.

I like this.

Still considering cutting down a contego 810 and gayle bradley to 3" blades, 4" handles.

Changes in the 940 blade size, big NO from me.Like it the way it is.Cheers.

Wow! I just saw the new 2015 Benchmade 485 Valet. It's similar to what a mini 940 would be. 2.96" M390 blade, axis lock, sleek handle design, deep carry clip. I'll be buying one as soon as they're available.

I'll still buy some mini 940, 940-1, and 943s though.....Benchmade....please...

I would not be interested in a mini 940, I think the 940 series is already the perfect size.
