the few things that stick out to me is first. is the shaft size, i think the standard is 5/8" so i am not sure how finding a step pully for a 7/8" would be. cant be to hard i would think. the other thing is the service factor is 1.0 most if not all heavy duty motors i have seen have a service factor of around 1.15%. what is the brand name, that will help alot as well as the model number.

Yes, that motor would work fine. the higher the horsepower, the larger the shaft typically. 7/8" is common enough.

single phase means you can just hook up an on/off switch and away you go. With 1725 rpm, make sure to get the right step pullies so that you get 5500 sfm max.

The price sounds right to me.

Electric Motor Warehouse?

Hightlighted in red is the name and a catlog #, I don't see a model #.

What really caught my eye is the effeciency rating of 82%, most motors are below 75%! So what do youall think? A winner for that price?

Yep, that motor is a beast and will work great on a belt grinder.

It's really a 145 frame with 2 sets of mounting holes.....56 and 145.

That makes it interchangable with a 56 frame...but it is actually bigger.

The 7/8" shaft is that of a 145.

I'm very familiar with that motor...you'll love it!

That's the motor I used for my KMG.

I have since purchased two different 2-hp Baldor DC motors and drives on ebay. The motors and drives only cost me about $200 each, and will allow variable speed and reversing.

If you have the time to shop ebay closely for about 2 weeks, I bet you can get a similar deal.
