Would this be an acceptable topic for this forum?

I own more Case pocketknives than Buck, but my Case knives are (for the most part) collectors, my Bucks (for the most part) are users. I also own, like, and use USA made Schrade, Camillus, Boker, Imperial, and Colonial pocketknives (all gone as USA makers now) and I like the various colored bone handles offered by Case for display, but I like the black synthetic handles, stainless steel blades, and the heavy duty feel of the Buck pocketknife for a using knife. The vast majority of new knives I buy nowadays are USA made Buck or Case (have bought one of each of Canal Street, GEC, and Bear & Son in the past year). I still avidly search for nice versions of old USA made knives of any quality manufacturer.

I don't know about everyone, but I'm not so short sighted that I believe that a Buck is the only acceptable knife to own and carry. I probably have 20 Bucks for every knife of another brand, but there are some others that I like and enjoy carrying once in awhile.

Do you think a thread showing our "off brand" that we carry once in a while, perhaps along side a similar Buck (because this is the Buck sub forum) would be OK here and not offend anyone? Or should such a topic be limited to the General forum?

I'd like a mods input also. I'd not want to get a "ticket" for starting a topic such as that.

Yes, Plum, I think it is more than o.k. to show knives of other brands in comparison to Buck knives as
I did it a time ago in Armands SPS when I showed some Puma knives beside of the related
Bucks. To the contrary I think it is necessary to see beyond ones own nose. That broadens ones
horizonts.

While having a single thread in this manor I don't believe would be a big deal, but on the same token, the BUCK forum was created for Bucks. With the rest of the forum covering all other knives.

Since Chuck, CJ, Joe, etc. participate in this forum would it be respectful not too?

I've always liked Buck knives and while I have a few others I don't intend to purchase other brands unless it's just a fantastic knife and/or deal. Because I like them I have chosen to collect Bucks, if not I would just have a bunch of random knives. But now I have a beginning collection of Bucks.
