Would you be willing to pay more for a Vic if .....

The main issue is that, as has already been said, there are in fact a very finite number of ways a SAK can be built using standard non-modified parts. Even adding a set of 91mm scissors to a 93mm Alox SAK requires drilling out the holes in the backspring so as it'll fit in with the bigger pin sizes of the 93mm.

There are still lots of variations that Vic have either never produced or no longer produce however. Explorer with added saw? Already made and discontinued, it was called the Woodsman. Explorer with saw replacing the scissors? So far as I know it was never done by Vic but is perfectly possible.

JCK, I have a Farmer with an added saw. It's my all-time favorite SAK. A guy over on the SOSAK website, by the nickname of "Scibeer" did the mod for me. He is retiring from modifying SAKs shortly, though. I believe some of his mods may still be available. Go over to www. sosakonline.com and check it out.

Regards,
Ron
