Would you buy a Mad Dog??

Marion,
I couldn't have said it better. When I read the topic starter I couldn't think of any possible reason for this thread. There is six pages of opinions right below this thread and Edge has already been told to do a search and he would find volumes of info about Maddog. What possible reason could you have for starting this Edge??

Jim

Edge,

You might want to go over to www.TacticalForums.com and ask this question in any of the forums there to weigh the responses from a different environment along with what you get here.

The best advice is what Poff said though. Once you get your ATAK, put it to work, and then let us know how it works out for you.

What do you mean "if price is not an option?" If you're giving them away, I'll graciously accept them.

But no, I wouldn't pay full price. The current prices do not reflect work put in, but rather the demand. And I simply don't want it that much.

Let's see if I understand this right -

You can't change the price.
You can't change the steel, coating, or construction.
I'm going to guess you can't change any of the other factors either.

In that case - not just no, but hell no. Why pay that price when you can get better for less? False "prestige" and inflated claims don't do you any good if your knife fails you in the field.

I'll second Steve's comments about checking out TacticalForums.com for another perspective. I wouldn't say it's balanced; but it's certainly another, different perspective.

Yes,i have an ATAK coming for use as a fighter only. For work chores i have Battle Mistress for that.
Most people will not pay the prices for an Emerson custom either but i have and will do so again.
Different strokes for different folks.

I'm goin' with Velitrius, Kozak, Tombstone, BladeMan, Cobalt, Brian Turner, Phillip, Senator, Mike, and Spark when I say hell no.

I'd rather purchase a knife with a warranty back by someone with balls.

Besides, I can find a knife with a real warranty that can perform better and cost less than a Mad Dog with my eyes closed.

You could put nacho cheese sauce on it...

I have a couple. I would buy another but not a new one. Too expensive. All of mine have been purchased over these forums for much less than retail. I personally recommend the ATAK2. I love mine. Of course I could probably chop through it with my Battle Mistress...

My Knives

Truthfully, I have no need for a “combat” of “fighting” knife, so have not considered the product closely. I have no real knowledge or experience on the subject, but why should that stop me from spewing my opinions forth? So, Hell Yes, I would buy one of the current offerings. I would spend any amount of money right now for a nice sharp piece of steel to shove into my brain and stop all the unmitigated crap that keeps coming up on this subject from penetrating my mind any further.

If I could buy one new, it would be overpriced.

If I could buy one used, even at a "bargain" price, the "warranty" would be void.

So.... no. Heck no!!!

Diffusing, dropping, sideways-darting, in tiny showers of gold,
