Would you buy a Sebenza w/o a bday card?

I would buy it, at the right price. I don't buy to collect so Card is not an issue; and as others have said, cards are easily faked. As long as the knife is genuine, the card would be no big deal, unless I was only buying it to re-sell. Then it makes a difference to most people.

I would never buy a CRK off of the auction site period. It's even worse with no paperwork! I would buy one without as long as I could handle it first.

Pretty well says it for me.

I already had a few Sebenzas when I bought a couple without cards or boxes. The sellers were regulars here. I had seen the tanto sold year after year, missing out by minutes. :) Then it was my turn, and I still have it.

But Auction sites? Strangers? Why? A little patience will get you a discounted user to really enjoy playing with.

Im also a person who doesnt care too much about bday card as itll be inside closet anyways.

I would want to inspect knife in my hands for damage.

I recieved a mnandi on this site in bad condition and would of avoided purchase if seller shown me damage.

Many genuine CRKs are sold on this forum. If someone tries to sell a fake on this forum, members will be all over it. So I thnk you can buy a used Sebenza on Bladeforum with some confidence, but I would still want the birth certificate (or the price should reflect a lack of one).

I agree except if it came to it, some sort of bill of sale from a reputable company - maybe. ;)

I looked and I don't see any feedback. How come you didn't resolve this or leave negative feedback?

Because it was my fault for not asking for detailed pictures.

Through email I told him edge was damaged and he claimed he never noticed. ...

Again I sharpen myself and grounded damage away.

now im more careful about used knives.

Why on Earth not? If you can tell it is real, that little piece of paper isn't going to make the knife any better.

I have bought several here and on fleabay, some with papers, some without. All real. All didn't seem any worse from lacking that useless little slip of paper (or the box).

All were used of course. A new one? No. A new one should be new, never used, all things included, not sharpened, not carried, not handled, not scuffed, not rusted, etc. I DID trade into a "BNIB" Umnumzaan that had the lanyard removed, a denim string stuck under the clip, lint in the handles, and it looked as if a chimpanzee had used a Sharpmaker to knock the very tip off of it. That one DID have the birthday card....
