Would you carry a knife even if it was against the law?

I carry my knife everywhere in deep pocket but it's not illegal in California. If it were illegal to carry any kind of knife I would probably hold carrying to work hours because the chance of being questioned is low in that situation. But I would never take it out to the bars or out at night when everyone is suspect. Not sure how hard core the police are in Sweden but out here they take it pretty seriously. I did get busted when I was in college because my roommate was smoking pot in our Dorm and set off the fire alarm. I was 19 and the cop came in my room and found a balisong and half a bottle of Jack. He confiscated my knife but didn't bust me for it because I told him I just bought it online cause I thought it looked cool. He was like "That's a butterfly knife man! You can't have that!!!". Guess I got lucky on that one.

I do and will continue to. When I go to work I'm ususally carrying my Spyderco Military and usually a larger fixed blade. I have my Gerber LMF 2 with me right now. Though it's not illegal but if it were to become illegal I would tell them to stick it where the sun doesn't shine. I feel like with all the gun laws being inforced that I should at least be able to continue to carry a decent sized knife.

I agree...the gun laws are ridiculous. The constant desire to create a pillow-soft perfect society where there's never any chance of anyone getting hurt is just a strangulation of freedom. Truth is there are bad people out there and there will never not be so I should be allowed a fair opportunity to defend myself against them. Sorry for the off topic rant!

The Second Amendment covers not only guns but knives as well. It is irrelevant what lawyer (e.g., "judge") says the Second Amendment actually means - it's plain English. The Second Amendment is not a gift from government, but God. It "grants" nothing, but guarantees something which already existed.

If some lawyer or group of lawyers declares your self-defense tool "illegal," think for yourself and determine what a free man should do. Criminals will ignore "arms control laws." Determine for yourself if self-defense and self-preservation are your inherent right. And if your right is "illegal," try not to get caught by those who wield illegitimate "authority."

When I can't carry a weapon to defend myself, I will move to a state or country that I can, that's my God given right. In my state we have open carry for firearms and you can carry as big of a knife as you want as long as it is visible, the lefty Yank's up north are trying to take those rights away from the law abiding working class, but here in NC their are more that are armed on a daily basis then not, plus I live in a military town where weapons like guns and knives are regular daily conversation, one of my buddies is a state highway patrolman and we always end up talking knives and I get to show off my EDC fixed blades to him, he's a cool cat.

I almost always carry a knife of some kind.
I never ever break the law.
i also never go to the washroom.
One of those propositions is true.

I'm actually trying to carry small fixed blades more often, since fixed blades up to 4.5" blade length (yes, four and a half inches) are allowed to carry without any reason at all. Doesn't make sense to me either, but thats what it is.

I love this german law about knive; here in Italy carrying a knife is illegal without a commonly accepted reason, and having a fixed blade on your person in a city means trouble. When I was in Germany it felt really strange to me: I could go around with a small fized blade knife without concerns. Amazing :)

In my humble opinion, there ain't no knife worth carrying that is worth going to jail for. (Ain't nothing else worth going to jail for, either.). In addition, if the knife in question is illegal, the authorities will confiscate it, so you can kiss it, and the money you spent on it, and the money for the fine, court costs, attorney fees, et-al, good bye.
You will also have a record for carrying a illegal blade or weapon, giving the authorities reason to hassle you on a whim, since they'll figure "did it once, will do it again..."

In order for you to carry a knife over 2.5 inches in Massachusetts, USA, you have to carry full camping or fishing gear with you. As ridiculous as it sounds, they can throw the books at you for it, and the prison sentence is up to 30 months. That being said, I carry around my fishing license in the very front of my wallet, and if I was to be caught with a knife and the officer decided to get truly technical about the knife being on me (which they very rarely do), I would just claim I was heading to my friend's house where I left my gear and that we were going fishing. Since I am an avid fisherman and camper, proving this is no problem for me.

I agree with your statement, except for the bold part. It's not worth it to go to jail for carrying an illegal weapon (IMO) but there are things worth going to jail for. I could name a few examples of things that I'd be willing to go to jail for, but the biggest one is definitely God. No government can stop me from practicing my religion (so long as it's not harming anyone else), and I will fight to keep it that way. If it means jail, so be it.

Just my two cents

This is so inaccurate it's not even funny...I'm a huge 2A advocate, but I don't for one second delude myself into thinking that there are any absolute freedoms in discourse or action and there are vastly differing views on the interpretation of the language.

Have all the macho chest pounding bravado you want about being a "free man", your rights and defending your life etc., but good luck convincing your trial judge that the law you broke was irrelevant because you feel your rights are absolute, in the end you won't be a free man and probably won't have your rights anymore either. Tens of millions of drug offenders have learned that lesson the hard way.
