Would you ever throw away...

I have a chinese balisong with copper skeletonized handles that was given to me years ago. Real low-end. For some reason the handles stink of some kind of chemical reaction. Not sure why except that the copper quality must be pretty low. Seems to be worsening with time.
Even if you wash it, the smell returns. The blade is in ok shape and actually holds a razor edge well so I can't bring myself to throw away the stinky balisong.
Eventually I think I'll get a Busse and chop it in half.

There is some stinky brass used for knife handles made in third world countries. I believe it contains quite a bit of lead, and who knows what else. Your hand stinks after you handle it. Don't eat or smoke without washing your hands first....

Aye! It does travel to your skin. I haven't handled it since. Won't sell or give it away, and the blade isn't worth rebuilding handles. A prime candidate for a steel on steel chop test.
