If you wouldn't mind, and have minute, please go to the site below and tell Pres Bush, and MSNBC, how you feel about being able to use our forest lands: Please vote against Clinton's policies.

Thank you from the makers and outdoor folks in Utah.
*** BLUERIBBON ALERT *** BLUERIBBON ALERT *** BLUERIBBON ALERT ***

MSNBC is running another poll to verify support or opposition to the
Clinton/Gore Roadless Initiative. We need to send the strongest message to
the Bush administration that this effort to circumvent congress should not
be implemented.

Make your vote count at:
http://www.msnbc.com/news/545197.asp

Get there as soon as you can. MSNBC has a habit of closing their polls
early!

I wonder if I've been duped by the media, or you have.

PS Where the hell is the knife content? Maybe if you think this is of interest to people that also like knives, Johnson, you could post your little ad in the community forum. Thanks a million, bud.

True, this would be an ideal Community, or even Political, entry.

Anyway, it's a waste. One of the problems with e-mail is, it's too easy. Congressmen get flooded with it, the President would be overwhelmed.

Any totally unevaluated poll like this is even less meaningful to an elected official than direct e-mail. When you get a letter addressed to "Occupant" what do you do with it?

If you want to make an impression, take pen and paper and handwrite a brief letter, clearly and concisely stating what you believe or what you want done, and address it to your Congressman and to your Senators.

Be sure to sign it, and put your address and phone number (e-mail addy is OK, too).

Do not use vulgar or threatening language. If you know of a particular stance or vote taken by your representatives, mention this -- it tells them how involved and knowledgeable you are.

Save the Earth !!!

I truly apologize for wasting your time. I'm just learning the ropes, but apparentely not fast enough. I cn see now that I had no business in this forum, sorry. I'd delete this post if I could.
Thanks for your comments.

For those of you who are unaware, Mr SR Johnson or Steve Johnson makes some of the most sought after, well made, and functional knives on the planet. Having worked years with long ago and learned from another maker, Mr RW Loveless, this is a case of the pupil far surpassing the teacher in skill. At the recent ECCKS show, I was 3rd on line in the door, when I got to his table, all 8 knives he had were sold.
If he posted in the wrong forum, there was probably a better, more polite way to let him know. If you didn't agree with the content of his post, there was defintely a more polite way to let him know.
Welcome to Bladeforums Steve, hope you don't let this run you off. Keep coming around, I'm sure you'll be an asset to this community, especially the shop talk forum.

Hi, Steve.
Unfortunately, you will see folks post here without putting any thought into what they say before they say it. Anonymity of the keyboard is a beautiful thing...

With so many boards in this forum, it is easy to miss the "correct" one you should post on. I am guilty of doing that many times. It is not that big of a deal to most of us.

Poke around in the knifemaker area...I'm sure you will run in to some folks you know

Steve, Welcome to our happy group! I am going to move this thread to the political forum. No problem at all, just a houskeeping move.
