WOW!!!! BRKT Fox River MAGNUM!!!!!

I see a lot of people hanging on this thread but not replying.

Still drooling and/or ordering huh? :D

With all this drooling going on, you guys should get down here to Texas I understand we need the water.:)

Great looking knife but I'm broke too.

Beautiful knife. I just go tmy first BRKT knife last week. I got the Highland. I liked it so much two days later I ordered a PSK. Today I ordered the trickle to carry in my pocket. All 3 in antique micarta.

Im addicted!

It a beautiful knife.
I have heard great things about the Fox River and I have one on order.
I hope someone gets one of these a posts a review.

I'm gonna go against the grain here. I don't like it. Maybe I would if I had one to try out, who knows? But I find the standard Fox River size just perfect (my all-time favorite production blade, BTW), and I don't get the use of stainless. What's wrong with A2? Thanks, but I'll save my $, all $180+. This is the first BRKT project that I can remember seeing, that I didn't drool over.

Nice knives, but I already have a River's Edge, which is basically the same knife but with a guard.

I'm saving my pennies for a Hudson Bay.

If it catches on with us, I am sure Mike Stewart will start running it in A2 - he listens to his customers in a big way.

That sure is a nice one. Speaking of handle material, anybody ever see black/red linen micarta? I just feel in love with it the other day. Brian, have you ever tried 154CM? I've been playing with it on a few knives and it is something else.
Scott

I was surprised at the steel. BRKT normally has A2 for the large/medium sized knives, and stainless for the small cutters.

I think BRKT does custom runs of new designs in 12c27 sometimes to test if a new design catches on. If we clamor for A2, Mike will listen,

But I am telling you, this stainless is amazing the way it is heat treated, etc. I am very happy with its perfoemance, and I never thought I'd say that. Except, A2 is still my top choice.

Scott, I have used 154CM extensviely -- my TOPS CQT Magnum folder. Also one of my favorite stainlesses. You've seen some of the stopries of the abuse I have put it through, like cutting off a car fender using a baton (I had to do it, folks not a Noss test).

Naval Special Warfare often requests 154CM because their tests found it to be their preferred combo of strength and corrosion resistance. I know this firsthand information, not via marketing rumors, and they were smart to put knifenuts in the teams in charge. However, that doesn't mean it's the best, it's just their preferred that they tested for their particular purposes, which are quite different than bushcraft! However, I used to skin, carve traps, and do many aspects of bushcraft and 154cm held up nicely.

Well, hint hint. One of our very generous members has created the opportunity for us to test out this steel and this knife, with the blue G-10 handle, in a passaround....:D I mean, why just talk about it when we can try it out right?

I'll be posting rules for entry, etc., very shortly.

Wow, that's sweet!
Although I love the black/blue color scheme, if I was going to drop the coin, I'd do it on the Ironwood Burl:
