DUH *slaps head. I have been doing it backwards! Thanks for the tips everyone. I will try flipping the file around and pulling and see if it works better. With my VERY improvised setup, I work up and down the blade in sections with the longer length helping to brace on my knee, but it kind of stinks. The reason why I don't like clamping to a peice of bar/edge of the workbench is I found that it only worked with a straight or short blade, but i'll try with the filing vice with a peice of flat bar under the blade, will be safer and keep the heat off my knee too. Thanks for the Safety tips RHrocker, I have backed into or turned into a blade tip before luckily it was not sharp and just startled me. I have to look in the fastenal book for the file card, I know we carry the magic-cut file too......
