Look at how they intentionally smoosh the food with the regular kitchen knife! Who cuts a sandwich with a rocking motion?
 
Bah... Sonic Blade... Sure, it can cut up sandwiches, pineapples, and tomatoes... But this can unlock (or lock) any door, activate any piece of machinery, and de-animate killer plastic mannequin arms that are strangling you.
