Congrats to Spyderco for jerking me off the Emerson bandwagon and pulling me onto theirs. I received a Spyderco Para Milli today (Black Blade PE). I am simply amazed by this knife. My only worry is it is almost solid G-10. I tend to drop mine alot, will the G-10 break? Never the less, I think I am in love!

From what I've read about G10,it's pretty much indestructible.
 
Go to the top of the tallest building you can find and drop the knife onto the sidewalk below. I would venture to guess the G-10 will be just fine:D

EDIT: I just realized that I've never personally tried this, so don't take my word for it!
 
G-10's very tuff stuff. Unless it was ancient I don't think it would ever shatter or crack.
The Para is a superb knife! I recently bought a second one I like it so much.
 
Congrats on the Para Military. That folder replaced my HD-7. OMG!!! I know what your talking about.
 
ParaMilitary D2, Foliage Green G-10 coming soon........that'll be my 2nd para...........and g10 doesn't tend to break easily,it becomes mauled up when dropped, if anything at all

When are these supposed to come out? And did someone say something about a White Para Milli? I cannot remember where I saw that one.

Good description. On hard, rough ground (asphalt for example), you will see dings, but they are not really dings, it's not dented, it is not chipped either, it is ground away. But it won't effect function.

i haven't heard of a white para. there is a white endura in FRN coming out sometime this year though. there is supposed to be a new military with a four way clip coming out sometime in the future and if you like the para you will love his big brother the millie.

That must have been where I heard white. Thanks for the clarification Tony.
 
The G10 won't break (at least, I've never heard of anyone breaking G10 scales) and it does have nested partial liners that add a little support.

It's also unaffected by temp variations and most chemicals.
 
There's a white FRN Ladybug, Delica, Endura, Dragonfly and a white micarta Goddard Jnr on the way (plus the Phoenix). That's it though methinks.
 
The para is one of my all time favorite Spydies. A tough small package that cuts well. Whats not to like.
 
Where would be the first place to check to get one of the new para's on order at the best price... I need to jump on it right away...!

I have chipped G-10 scales on a hard impact. Never broken them though. The Para is a great knife... but the Military is my favorite.
