Wow... it has been a little over a year!! And the Knive that Started it All...

Great post my friend.
What a nice variety of CRK's that you've had. I've never even seen an Umfaan other than in pics, most of which have been yours. I've had 4 different umnum's, not even close to your stunning collection. I hope you complete it one day. I have had the pleasure of messing around with one of the first 20 and it was a sweet knife, I especially liked the double detent on the lock bar and wish that had made it to the production model.
I still have that wonderful Nyala you sold me and it will go to one of my boys in due time- thank you. I received an Insingo version for my birthday, that'll eventually go to my little lady :)

I've never found your posts boring, please keep making them as you've been a credit to the forum since day one.

Now let's see a post of the customs in the General a Knife Discussion section ;)

As always thanks for the kind words Rich!!:) You have been a wealth of information a to me and others here on the forum. And your youtube videos are great!! I always look forward to watching them!
All the best!!

Wow, what a beautiful collection. I just purchased my first Umnumzaan over the weekend (2009, Old Pivot, Pre-Idaho Made, Pre-LBS, S30V) and can't wait!!! It's a user, so it doesn't come with the birthcard or none of the goodies, but it still doesn't take away from the joy and excitement I feel for it's arrival. I just love the plain ole good looks of the Umnumzaan in it's original configuration and it was a must that it be my first, if I ever was to get one.

Thanks Guest!! You will love the Zaan!! It still is my favorite CRK!! Especialy in the Orignal Configuration!!
All the best!!

Wow !
That's a lot of mighty fine knives you've had/have in only one short year !

I bought my first around year 2000, have never had over 10 CRK's at once, and only have 7 now.
You make me feel like a real slacker :p

I wish I had bought 65 Sebenza's instead of that many Busse's soon after I signed up here:rolleyes::grumpy::o You live and learn I guess:p

I was into Custom folders at one time, but I have sold all of them other than my Traditional customs.
I bought and handled many at the 10 or 11 Blade Shows I've been to, but I have never found a custom folder I like as much as a Sebenza(for me). The straight handle of the Sebenza is the best handle for me, and I like all else about them too.

Mike, I too have had a love affair with CRKs (no where near your collection) and have moved on to customs and others. I still have 5 CRK, but no matter what I get, it's still hard to beat them. Seems I compare them all to my CRKs.

You have great taste in knives!! I'd say when do something you go 'all in'!! Beautiful collection.

Thanks Kenny!! I actually agree with you my friend, as far as customs vs Chris Reeve knives. Unless you are into the really high end custom knives.. and I am not.. it would be very hard in my opinion anyway to compare the fit and finish to lets say a Large Sebenza.. and unless you are lucky enough to get a custom direct from the maker the prices are pretty lets just say amazing.. so, yea I think dollar for dollar ounce for ounce, you get a lot of knife for your money from Chris Reeve knives! IMHO of course.

I agree with you 110% my friend!! Fit and finish, quality of materials all at a reasonable price! Hard to beat.
All the best!

Just want to thank Dave -Many of us have obtained our grail knives( or at least long sought after) through his generosity.

What a fantastic selection and collection of CRK's. Super effort for 12 mths work...... Thanks for sharing the pictures, they really help make this brilliant forum.

Thanks for sharing Dave. I think your collecting happens in 'Dog Years'........I.E. one year of your collecting is equivalent to 7 years for a typical fan. I also think you might be a factor for the price of titanium on the metals trading index.:D

Bravo! I'm in awe.

What an amazing collection !!!! Just like you , I just purchased my first CRK. The Umnumzaan . Bought it off a member here . Love the knife so much that I'm picking up a 25 this Saturday .
