Very even patina versus one that just develops with use. Glad you like it, but I prefer my blades to be new looking if that is possible.
The BladeForums.com 2024 Traditional Knife is available! Price is $250 ea (shipped within CONUS).

I see you have the large folding CRKT Razel. That was a hard one to find. I have had mine for a couple years now and use it primarily for scraping.Well, here’s where we are 2 month’s later. Not many from the first pic, but a few. Loving the hobby! Heading to NYCKS next month with my brother in law. Have gotten into sharpening and repairing broken tips here and there for friends and family. My wife thinks I’m nuts, but it’s fun!

A hot lemon juice bath followed by a mustard & cider vinegar soak. I'm happy with the results of my first dabble into forced patinas.

I owned only one knife (maybe two) for the first 30 years of my life. If it got lost, I replaced it. What happened? Knife knut brother in law came into the picture and then the knives started trickling in especially fixed blades that I seldom use. I was 90% right for a long time and felt I didn't need a fixed blade at all. These days I have been averaging about one knife a month in the last couple of years. That is actually too many, but most are not expensive ones unless you consider $100 expensive. Still really like slip joint traditionals (GEC's mostly) and I buy them. But I am finding that I am not using them.... (except SAKs).I would suggest using what you have for a while so you can determine what you like and dislike about each knife. Then once you have a more refined expectation, then begin research to find the knife that most fits your criteria. I had one knife at a time for 12 years. Then in the next year i bought 8 more while searching for the "perfect" edc knife.

Yeah man, you got it bad.
Already forcing patinas? Time to check into a clinic.
I saw you sliding down the slippery slope in the very first post when you said you were already upgrading a handle to micarta.
It's too late to warn you, but I will say, DON'T even try vintage micarta.
Someone with your predisposition will become a Westinghouse Ivory Micarta addict in no time.![]()

The accumulation looks good! You mentioned that some have come and gone in a previous post; none of mine have "gone" unless I loose them, break them, or give them away. Enjoy.
Damn that looks great!
Might have to pick one up! Great job on the forced patina.
I dont normally buy many knives as i a a maker. How do you like it?
And how easy is it to do a forced patina on M4?
Another SR shaver here you should see my brush and soup collection LOL
A bunch of enablers here same as on badger and blade.
Welcome to the dark side and kudos on a great start!
Where's the Chaparral? The Dragonfly2? What about the ZT0452cf? Maybe I missed the XM18? Not sure if that's an 804cf? Oh, Slysz Bowie![]()

2 months and all of those? Very nice choices.
If I can make a suggestion, perhaps you could try saving up some money over the course of a few months? It would be extremely hard, but if your tastes get more expensive, it may be worth it.
I made my last big knife purchase over a year and a half ago. I saved about a little bit of money per month since then, and splurged last month on a sweet knife. I don't have as much wiggle room, being a student and all lol.
The process is killer, but the rewarding feeling is worth it.
