The Westside Pirate Crew had a small gathering in Joshua Tree last week. It was an open event so anyone could show up. The only issue during the week was the fact that it was spring break for most of Socal. We did manage to find campsites for all in the end, even if we did have to live up to our name and liberate a few sites...
I arrived early in the week to reconnoiter the area and find said sites. When I did finally find one, there was a bit of commotion from the next site over. It seemed as tho' there were pirates of another sort acting up-

Tuesday I got to spend some time with my boys. We headed into the park and checked out the cool stuff that Joshua Tree has to offer.

All in all, it was an excellent week. My birthday fell on Easter day this year. I couldn't have asked for a better week really, good friends, the desert and my boys. Got a cool gift from Vector no less!

I think I see Vec in that first pic. Huh, who knew he looked so good in a pink dress?

;)

Is that a rattlesnake that your son is holding???:confused:

come on, it's not like it's a king cobra....

bro shotgun, i do look lovely in pink, thank you for noticing that. - does that mean i'm an autumn? - or something else...?

you guys need to come down and party with the pirates sometime....

it gets good and ugly, not always in that order...:D:thumbup:....

I don't know, for some reason rattlesnakes always look better to me when their heads are separated from their bodies. That's what a good chopper is for! ;)

i was surprised to learn that rattlesnakes can be taken anytime legally without a fishing license here in California.

- worrying mommies must be good for something after all....:thumbup:

I'd love to come visit but I spent all my money on something. If you and Erica ever come to the Portland area, we definitely have to hang out. I could introduce your Cali butts to GOOD beer. LOL

The pronounced femoral pores???

damn... for all the times I have been to Joshua tree I haven't seen anything more exciting that a common lizard! No... wait... a bobcat ran across the road in front of me once on the road toward the South entrance. Great pics!!!

California does seem to protect everything under the sun. For a small fee I can issue you a rattlesnake handling and collection permit. For an additional small fee I can issue you a chop the buggers head off license. :)

Oh how I miss JT. I use to go bouldering there with my buddies a lot on the weekends. I was stationed up at 29 Palms(MCAGCC) and it was about the only fun thing to do in the area, besides Big Bear.

Do any climbing? If you guys do anything in NorCal, let me know, I'd tag along

some of us did. i di a lot of scrambling with my dogs - they are both part monkey.

most of these guys are from up in NorCal.

we are probably going to be diving for abs or spearfishing next up thattaway, but i don't know what's on the schedule.

anyone cool is always welcome.
