WPC and friends in Joshua Tree

Do any climbing? If you guys do anything in NorCal, let me know, I'd tag along
My climbing days came to a stand still with the birth of my first child. I used to climb in Joshua Tree regularly. One of the WPC members is on a SAR team and rock climbs regularly. He has me itching to get back into it. There is lots of good rock in NorCal, for sure. As Vector stated, the next event will more than likely be a dive weekend. All are invited to open events; we have a couple a year at this point.

Awesome, I've never dived in the Pacific... when I was stationed in Florida freediving quickly became a favorite passtime in otherwise a completely shoddy area. You should boulder-it's cheap, damn near maintenance free and alot less risky. Just get yourself a pair of shoes, a chalk bag and a crash pad and hit some 20 foot walls. It's a little easier on the joints as well, being balls to the walls for no more than 5 minutes at a time and not having to worry about breaking legs or killing yourself in the process.

I have 2 Metolius crash pads that have not seen the light of day in some time. I have done some bouldering but lead climbing has been what does it for me. There's nothing like being 800 feet up a wall with 2 more pitches to go...

Did someone say "freediving"?

So bummed I missed the desert debauchery brother. It looks like another epic gathering for the WPC chronicles. Unfortunately car trouble and poverty subverted my efforts to join you and the brethern in the SoCal desert. Looks like a great time with perfect weather.

PayetteRucker, we should be diving non stop all spring, summer and fall. Maybe a small break here and there for some more terrestrial pursuits. We will be having a big campout in the fall at the coast. Come on over and Ill show you how to check an abalone for pearls.

Awesome pics, I too was in the Marines and stationed at 12 stumps. JT and big bear were my play grounds too. I hope to get back out that way some day to do some hiking
in J T.

Again seeing your pics sure brought back memories.
