Fresh back from an overnight hike/camp in beautiful Wrightwood California. I had never been there before and yet it seemed right in my backyard. First was a short 5 mile hike from Inspiration point to Blue Ridge camp. Nice scenery and some autumn colors are starting to show. After the hike it was time to make camp and patiently await the next days adventure---an 8 mile hike up Mt. Baden-Powell (9,400ft.) with an elevation gain of 2,800ft. in the first 4 miles. As expected, the trip was a blast and I got a few camp and hike pictures to share with you guys. I hope you enjoy them!

Barong Machete, Victorinox OHT Stay glow, JK Tactical Hiker, Becker Necker

Cold Steel 12” Barong Machete did lots of wood splitting for the night’s fire.

Fuzzy made with the 12” Barong

Her first fuzz stick with her own knife.

JK Knife was use to split smaller pieces of wood and make fuzz sticks.

The Becker Necker helped with the fuzz too!

My point exactly! Red is easy to see amidst the forest debris.

Well now! I haven't seen you on here for a long time. Then again I go on and off here too in spurts. Welcome back! I always enjoyed your pictures of your adventures!

Great pics!

Did you guys get into the Grizzly Bear Cafe for some lunch? Thats a cool hike, me and the wife went last year and got caught in a freak snow, one minute it was nice, cool and clear the next minute the powder started flowing.

Awesome pics Ruben......

That JK of yours has seen some time. Looks like you guys had a great trip.

I go away for a few months at a time but I always return here. Thanks for the welcome.

That JK has been used in Peru, Arizona, and was in a SWAT Magazine review. It gets around!

Really beautiful shots. Suitable for framing!

Thanks for that comment. Maybe I will print a few out and see how they look.

What pine species are those on the top? Some of the pictures look like foxtails, but I don't believe they are found that far south. And some look like whitebark, same story there. And some look like lodgepole.

Enjoy them I did!!
Very fine photography and real nice images.
Funny how pictures have a hard time getting the perspective of steep isnt it!
How heavy a pack did you take for the day?
Im going to look up that walk and see exactly where it is
Thanks for posting
