Well as some of you may know I ordered a dt Izula well an Izula came in today, but it was od knifeworks offered to get me a shipping label and send out the proper color but I passed on that. Now this gives me a good excuse to strip the coating and get a nice patina.

Any stripper recommendations?

I now must win a dt izula so I have one of those anyways.
 
What in Sam's Hell is going on with our dealers!!!!! This is like 4 screw-ups by 4 different dealers within a week!
 
Are the labels on the packages marked properly? In other words if you got an OD then the label on the outside should say OD
 
It was marked OD - Izula on the bag. Girl on the phone said that somehow an od izula got in the box of dt izulas and when the packager picked one out of the dt box they got an od izula. She also said they where sold out of od izulas. Who knows?

I'll definitely get some before and after pics when I do it I'm hoping to preserve the engravings. Which to me look like they are cut out of the coating and lightly burned into the steel. So as long as I use none or minimal abrasives I should be set.


What is the coating so that I can find an appropriate and hopefully cheap stripper?

Oh god my mind is in the gutter. I had to read it twice to know what you were asking. I was thinking: "Hell, cheap strippers is the last thing you want." :D

Are you sure? Let me think about it.. nope. Cheap strippers arent the last thing I want. Probably a priest just after the cheap strippers.
 
I'm waiting for a dealer to accidentally ship me the RC4 I've been dreaming about:D

You would probably be better off with a shot of penicillin instead of a priest.
 
Wow, there has been quite a few mishaps with the dealers. That is very odd. I hope this gets worked out soon.
 
That is only the number written about here. Chances are the total / frequency are some what higher than even that.

maybe just an oversite, as long as they offered to fix the problem I would still trust to order from them.
 
Well, at least it's a Rat, albeit wrong color. At least it wasn't some other, lesser knife. :P
