I am near 1000 posts! I have been obsessed with knives since I was 8 years old and collected lots of them. I didn't know a good one from a bad one. Then I found Bladeforums. I found out about steel, that I shouldn't have removed the patina from my dads Western brand knife, custom knives are addictive, etc, etc..... I am very thankful for this community and everything you have taught me.... So on to the giveaway...

First! ONLY PAID MEMBERS ARE ELIGIBLE!!!! If you are not a paid member and want in, go buy a basic membership. They are cheap, you are supporting this site and you can get in on giveaways like this.

Will ship the knives anywhere in the world but shipping outside the U.S. Is on you. The drawing will be done on random.com. The knives are: Cold Steel Ultimate Hunter or a Cold Steel O-1 Natchez Bowie. Both knives have been fondeled heavily and have sat on my table for a couple of weeks since new. They will come in the original boxes. There will be a drawing for each knife so you have to INDICATE WHICH KNIFE YOU WANT. One entry per person.

****Just post something that you have learned here OR someone that has helped you out from this site and indicate which knife you are entering for.*****

WOW that's awesome! I've always wanted either a laredo or Natchez, but haven't been able to get around to it. That's incredibly generous.

Let's see. What have I learned here. Well, I've learned about sharpening, sharpies, and the edge pro! Seriously, sharpening is one of the most important skills I learned here.

Also, I've corresponded with many moderators, but found Esav to be a class act full of wisdom, and has helped me on purchases and other life decisions as well.

Thanks again for the incredibly generous giveaway!

Thanks for the chance at some great knives.

In the few years I've been here , I learned a great deal about sharpening and the various methods folks use.
I've also learned that fancy equipment is not absolute necessary to produce a sharp knife, just time and patience.

I would choose the Cold Steel Ultimate Hunter if I won.

Thank you,
Mark

I'm definitely in for the Ultimate Hunter! It's purdy!

The biggest thing I have learned here is that all knives are not created equally. Bigger price does not mean better value, and lower price does not mean worse quality. You have to do a little research, but it pays off getting the knife with the specs you wanted. The knife world is very vast, and this is the best place to help navigate through the confusion.

Oh my gosh. In for the Natchez, please! You're awesome, OP!

I learned about different steels, their properties, and how they behave when made into an edge here. I never would have known this otherwise! :)

I'm in please for the Natchez Bowie. What I have learned is that - as a general rule - less expensive knives cut stuff almost as well as expensive knives - and sometimes better.

Totally in for the Natchez. I have a friend who would lose his mind if I gifted it to him, as he wants one SO BAD and his wife absolutely will not allow him to buy any more "boy toys"

Awesome giveaway, BTW! I appreciate the opportunity.

I recently stumbled across the traditional sub-forum and was met warmly and saturated with information. I've since learned quite a bit about something I had basically no knowledge of previously, and it has rekindled what felt like a dying interest in knives. Prior to that, Bladeforums has been my go-to for when I have questions or just want to talk to people who get as excited about shiny sharp things as I do :)

Awesome giveaway, in for the Natchez Bowie. So, I have learned too much to name over the past few years from the forum. The knowledge that comes to mind though is the qualities of different steels, sharpening techniques, how to modify and tune knives to my liking, how to fix certain issues, and so much more. Thanks so much for the opportunity!

Surprisingly tough pick, but I'd take the Naches Bowie. It is completely impractical for me, but that never stopped me before.

I've owned one of heir trail masters in San Mai.

The hunter would be more useful, and practical, but I have enough useful and practical knives, and not enough dedicated scary knives!

Convexing an edge. Making a knife in my garage with hand tools. Heat treating it in my hibachi, and quenching it in oil. Reading feedback, tips, advice from some of the worldsbedt makers. Learning to make leather sheaths and getting advice and tips from the world's best leather benders.

It would be tough to talk about everyone and everything that have been a help on here!

Thanks for the chance and for a stellar giveaway!

Being new to this forum, the first thing I learned is how to clean my G-10 hand scales. However, the most important thing I gained from my experiences here is how helpful everyone here is. This is a community that like to share knowledge and support one another. For that I'm grateful. If I win, I would like: Cold Steel O-1 Natchez Bowie.
It is awesome what you are doing wroughndt.

I'm in for the Ultimate Hunter.

The biggest thing I've learned is the existence of the custom knife world. Totally changed my life.

Wrought, you are one of my favorite posters on this board. I don't want to be a part of the giveaway, but I hope that the person who wins, is someone who has never owned a Cold Steel knife. That way they can get a taste of how great those knives are.

Good on you man.

That is quite the compliment, thank you.

Recommended threads or responses to see some of his best responses?

Wroughndt, any favorite threads/responses?

I have never had 01 before, so I'm curious what it behaves like.

I'm in for the Ultimate Hunter! slg98 has been nothing but class to me here. There are lots of great members but he is one of the best!

Thanks for the chance.

This is very generous of you. I have learned many things on the forum mostly about different steels. I have met many helpful people and made several friends here. I would love to have that Bowie. Thank you!

Very generous sir! Thank you for the opportunity, I am in for the Natchez Bowie, will be a great companion for my Outdoorsman.

Probably the most significant thing I have learned about from BF is about sharpening and the characteristics of different steel types. I have gone from unable to sharpen anything properly to being competent, even with ZDP-189, all thanks to help and info from BF.

As tempting as that bowie is, I'm in for the ultimate hunter. Thanks alot!

Let me say the biggest thing I've learned here is everything. As a "ccollector" many people think that their 20 or so Chinese specials are something amazing, but I didn't even realize how much I didn't know. My first real knife purchase was a TOPS which lead me here. Since then my knowledge has grown immensely thanks to every contributing member. Thanks alot for your generosity!

Bobby3326 helped me get to and from South Carolina for thanksgiving for the price of a blurple Paramilitary. Saved my ass financially and my girlfriend would have killed me if I didn't make it to meet her parents. Go Bladeforums community.

And in for the Nanchez Bowie.
