Wrought Iron ID

I picked up an old wagon wheel rim hoping it is wrought iron.
Here is a pic of the end after I ground it some and broke it off by bending it.
Can someone tell me whether it is wrought or not?

It looks like good stuff too !
Sometimes you find waggon tyres what are quite coarse texture.

I plan to make some sanmai with this. Hopefully it etches out with some grain showing
