Wrought iron rust factor

Hi guys,

I haven't used wrought iron much, but I recently bought some of the Wis. Woodchuch stuff. It looks good, but even when finished, it seems to rust very easily. Much easier than more modern steel. Do you guys find this to be true, or am I just imagining it?

What, if anything, do you do to prevent the rust? Wax, oil, perhaps some kind of sealer?

Thx,
Dave

I find it does start to rust quick Dave i usually use paste wax on my wrought after etching and cleanup.

Thanks Robert,

I guess it's a trade off, like all things. W. iron gives very nice look to a blade, in return, you just have to do some strict maintenance.
