Wrought iron spike hawk

The head on this piece is forged from 1" square wrought iron, circa 1872, with a forge welded file steel bit and deep etched. OAL on the head is 9" with a 2 1/2" cutting edge and the spike is helmet punching sharp.The haft is weathered barn oak that is a century plus old with flamed stripes, wrapped in rawhide, and a carved hand grip and a tung oil finish, 19 inches long.
