wsk?

thats ones nice but i'd really like to find a beck or linger but i can't seem to find either of them anymore?

Dave Beck is not likely to be making them any longer. Interestingly, he participated in a long WSK thread where he specifically authorized anyone who wanted to, to make WSKs themselves, that the design was for everyone. This was in strong distinction to Tom Brown and TOPS, who want to maintain a monopoly on the design.

Roger Linger has had problems keeping up with orders and I believe he stopped taking them a while ago.

Mark Terrell and Red Scorpio 6 also ran off a few good ones. I don't know of anyone prepared to make them now except for Dan Koster, who also has a waiting list, but ... he is also very open to custom work, and can modify his own ideas to suit your needs.

As I recently found out for myself, getting one of his bushcraft knives, he does VERY nice work.

I'm still actively making them, but there's a pretty long wait list on them. I should have a batch of them done before Blade sometime. I should be at the same table again (20A I think), and here's the info on them.

I hope it's ok that I posted a link to it.

By the way, I've seen Becks going for over $1000. :(

:eek:WAY OVER. :eek:LOL.

I would have to say that Dave Beck's WSK IS the ORIGINAL Tracker. He actually had the patent, then didn't re-new for it. He helped Tom Brown design/refine the knife, after taking one of Tom's survival courses. I fell in love with the knife when I saw it in the movie. I hate saying that, but I never saw the design before that. I have owned several Becks, and loved them all. The look and feel of that blade in your hand, it just feels like no other knife that I have ever held. Speaking of which, does anyone have one they want to sell?

Hello guys/gals. Do any of you have a Dave Beck Tracker? Can you post some pics. PLEASE:) THANKS!!!!!!!!!

does anyone know if dave beck or linger will start making them again?

Hello. Well, Roger Linger is talked about in the Hall of Shame on this forum. That's not a good thing. And As far as Dave Beck, he is a great guy, a great knife-maker, but I do believe he is done with making knives. I would look into Mark Terrell, or the Koster WSK, if you wanted a custom knife.

@esav benyamin,

did you have a link to this :

Forgive my ignorance, but what does the WSK do so well?
I've never seen one in person, but it looks like it's trying to do too many things to do any of them well.

I posted pics of mine in the Gallery. It's in the General forum and under the title: My Favorite knife.
