The Harbor Freight 1" x 30" belt sander works well. The belts are easier to find with more grits available .
I start with 120 and go up from there 400,600,1000,3000. I have the leather belt also. I use it with Mothers Mag Wheel polish. Sander and belts all for about $75. It takes a steady hand but is quite easy to get the hang of. Most people are using the WSKTS without the guides anyway.
I just turned my Becker BK-2 from a club/pry-bar to something that cuts well.
The re curve on my ZT 0200 is a little hard but it still works well if you take your time
