WSS Style bracelet?

I have been thinking about making a bracelet aimed at the WSS crowd here. I make Paracord bracelets - but you can buy them on BF at a great price and it has been done.

I like the idea of a leather bracelet - with simple tooling - maybe even a saying or a logo imprinted in it - that is cool, rustic, and speaks to the bushcrafting life that we are drawn to.

I can even get a stamp made up for a decent price that is special for this bracelet - sort of a limited edition thing. (one like the one I use for my makers mark)

What are your thoughts on this? What would you recommend? What type of closure? What width? What thickness? If I get a stamp made - what should be on it? What would you buy?

I want it to remain simple and rustic to keep the cost around 20 dollars. 4 dollars in shipping - one dollar of every bracelet could go to BF. What do you think.

Here is an example - but I am not restricted to anything now - should I do this - or is this a waste of time?

I think it's a cool idea, and I'd want one for sure. I think it would be cool if it could be adjustable, though, like a watchband.

Seems like a cool idea to me. Maybe you could ounch some holes in a pattern that one could lace some jute through- it would be cool looking and functional.

I think it's a neat idea. A stamp would be cool. The simpler the better IMO, maybe a compass rose with B,F,W,S at the cardinal points?

I agree but instead of ounching the holes you punch the holes. :D

I'll vote for the threading holes.
I don't think it would really capture the spirit of this place if it wasn't functional in some way...
Some sort of very small slip pocket might also be useful.

Could put a small watchband compass on it for additional functionality. Just a thought, although the decorative aspect is enough for me to be interested.

I'd buy one with the bear paw tracker logo stamped on it. An arrowhead, scorpion, fire steel striker or flint knife stamp would be pretty sweet too. A woven leather watchband with a brass button compass...man i'm just gonna start a running list.

For thickness I like 1" bracelets, closing device could be a simple loop and ball or maybe 4 small brass hole punches at the end of it that you could use a cord to lace together, not too thick, :D and maybe "survive strong" for the stamp.

Here is an example with my makers mark to get an idea of what I am talking about.

I am married to nothing on this design - and if I did it again - it would not be as dark.

anyway - here it is:

I like it. I would love to get one as a part of my next sheath so I could have matching leather.

Looks good, but I don't like snap closures and they limit fit. Is there a way to make it more like a watch band with buckle and needle through the holes. Here is one reason why that would be useful. You can tack the bracelet backside up on a piece of wood using the buckle and one of the holes at the tie end. Then use your bracelet as a strop.

I was just looking at this thinking if it were a watchband (the kind that the watch mounts to the out side of the band) I would buy one.

Yes, that is the connection I am talking about. It makes it more one-size-fits-all. Which, is good.
