I have an order for a knife with longhorn horn handle scales and am having a hard time locating some...even here in Texas for cryin out loud. Anybody have some you can part with? Need it for a fixed blade
~1/4" X 5" X1 1/4" should do. Or, if anybody can point me to where I can find some I'd appreciate that too. Thanks! -Phil

I checked my messy warehouse and found some 3-1/2" x 1" long horn. If that is still here, I'm guessing there might be a box with some bigger scales in it. I'll keep looking and let you know if I find any. I've got lots of stuff here in boxes and am slowly getting it out and getting it ready to sell. If I can't find any longhorn here, I do know where to buy some. I'll do what I can to try to help you out.

Gee, that looks to be a tough one. I believe all I've ever seen the regular knife suppliers carry are buffalo horn scales. There's cow bone around too. Let us know if you find any steer horn scales. Sounds cool!

I raise Texas Longhorns as a hobby here in NE Texas. Like most of my hobbies it kind of got out of hand and I was up to nearly a 1000 at one point. Now, a few years later, have sold down to about 100 including calves. If you want a whole horn, I'll be glad to send you a smaller one free. Whether it would make knife scales or not, I have no idea. If you want a whole longhorn, bring a rifle and money. Cheap beef. LOL Nice skulls with longer horns, 50 plus inch spread, run about $125 plus shipping.

It´s in France, but beautifull.
Is that what you are looking for?

That's close Hengelo, but probably not from a longhorn. Truth is, any cow horn would work, but the customer insists on it being from a longhorn (UT graduate) so I'm gonna try to accomodate if I can. Thanks for the heads up though.

...the customer insists on it being from a longhorn (UT graduate)...

Why would you want to put a dead piece of your school mascot on a custom knife? Seems like something a UT grad would do...

It is little wonder that someone from Oklahoma wouldn't understand. It is a common condition of OU grads.

Interested not so much in shooting a longhorn as I am pigs. Got hogs??

Wild feral cattle in Hawaii is supposed to be a great hunt, but longhorn on a cattle ranch in Texas seems like a canned shoot! What part of Texas??

Well, ya know the difference between an UO girl and a bison? About 60 lbs....

How do you even it up? Force-feed the bison... or shave the UO chick :)
