WTF in the Woods, with His Friend NMFBM - Pic Heavy (Now with MOAB)

I can't wait for my little boy to be old enouh to appreciate his papa bear's interests. I'll stop wishing his life away now, as yes getting way too grown up way too fast. Thanks for giving afellow something to strive for. Good looking blades there. Dibs on skinny Moab. :-):-):-)

Thats Awsome Ben, Thanks for all the pics, you got sone good times ahead of you, with your son growing up, mine is 9 now, and last few years were especially nice, teaching him stuff, explaining what and Why, than seeing him doing things that you thought him is pretty rewarding.

Sounds good, I'll hit you up after the Holidays

Sounds great!

Looks like a great time and there's no question who that little guy belongs to. 😃

Haha, I have been told that a lot. It really pisses of my MIL to hear that. :)

I hear yea ---- if I may pick your brain, how close in performance was the WTF BG? Is one more comfortable to swing/control? :) thanks in advance --- cheers!

I find the MOAB more comfortable to use, it has a longer blade which feels more natural to me when really trying to swing heard. I am by no means a Dan Keffeler in terms of great swing consistency and accuracy (although I do have one of his knives inbound, but that's another story), but I tended to hit my spots better with the MOAB. The BG WTF costs ~$400, the MOAB costs ~$1,500+, so does the MOAB have 4x the chopping prowess? Nope, of course not, but past a certain performance threshold all things tend to get expensive. Both are great knives, and both are beasts. That being said, go get yourself a MOAB!

It happens fast buddy, three years has gone by in a blink. I'm really sounding old, because that's something that old people say, haha. At any rate, I'm holding onto my MOAB :P

I'm looking forward to that buddy, but I'm enjoying the progression now as well. Kids are a lot of work, but there is nothing like being a dad!

How does the NMFBM compare to the MOAB ? for chopping

It doesn't really compare when chopping, at least in terms of how deep it bites. That being said, you can swing a NMFBM a lot without becoming nearly as fatigued as when swinging a MOAB. A NMFBM is still a very capable chopper, it's just not a MOAB. After owning 74 Busse's over the course of the last 2.5 years, the NMFBM is my favorite all-around Busse. In my opinion the NMFBM is an underrated knife.
