WTF Is Back ? ? ? . . . . Oh Yeah!. . . In Battle Grade Dress On The Website Tonight 11-30-17

I noticed that in the email I received about this new WTF the blade coatings included a "weathered bronze" finish yet on the web site the only bronze finish is called "desert bronze" - are these both the same thing? if not can anyone show the difference between the two?

They're the same thing. . . .We drink too much!

Jerry:D

.

Darn. I was hoping the "weathered bronze" was the antique looking bronze with the greenish "oxidation". I really dig the look of that finish.

Is this a limited run, or will it be a regular item, like the FBM and AK?

I would like to know about this too...It seems like the new " regular offering knives " are shipping pretty quick. Could we see the skinny mini WTF in as soon as Two Weeks?

I’m kind of hoping these are just limited runs. When I first got into Busses (about 2 years ago) I was disappointed that you couldn’t order whatever you wanted. Now from a collector standpoint I like how rare that makes certain models and even enjoy the wait/anticipation of what’s next.

If anyone gets one of these new “skinnies” and can compare to an original, I’d love to see a review of weight and handling characteristics between the two.:cool:

I'm also curious if the WTH will be offered as a companion blade because it makes a beautiful matched set. I'll never forget one of the first ones I saw, someone had a piggyback sheath made with a WTF/WTH in a sweet leather sheath that left a lasting impression. It's not super high on my list, but I will have that combo at some point.

With both the WTF and the FBM in thinner stock and SR101, I'm tempted. If one were looking for a pure chopper, is the WTF worth the @$100 extra? What say you users?

I’d imagine the WTF would be better. The original one is pretty heavy but doable. I’m not sure if a smaller guy would want to be using it long. The extra belly has got to be more efficient batoning as well.

Dont forget that the Wtf is one of the few Busse knives that can cut with the flat of its blade on a flat surface.. because the blade edge reaches past the lanyard hole loops..
I have both the fbm and wtf..an thats a sweet feature..

On the FBM, the metal bit with the talon hole/lanyard hole extends down below the blade:

On the WTF, the blade edge extends down past the talon hole, thusly:

So with the WTF, you could have the entire cutting edge (or at least the flat part) in contact with a flat surface (like on a cutting board), whereas on an FBM (and many other Busses), the bit with the talon hole would get in the way.
