Kevin Spark Spark - Was up and running on BF this morning posting pictures, etc. and in the blink of an eye, BF wouldn't load. I run Windows XP as my OS and use Google for almost everything on my laptop.

My laptop with Windows 10 using Google is working just fine.

I suspect that you flipped a switch and don't support the XP/Google combo anymore. I know there was some updates at BF yesterday so I guess I gotta get a desktop.

Would appreciate a direct answer from Kevin Spark Spark as he knows the bottom line when it comes to the BF software etc..

Thanks

Yikes! "XP"? I've got a windows machine that still runs Win 7, but you got me beat ED.

Instead of using a book mark, try this address in your browser.

The http version may have been taken down. All the modern browsers want the https version.

Yeah, I'd be very surprised if this isn't an age/EOL thing. Windows will discontinue support/updates for versions after a time, and 3rd party software for those versions will end sometime after that. Support for Windows XP ended 8 years ago.

Kinda odd that it was a "flipped switch" moment, but it could have been, as you said, a XenForo update done by BF, or it could have been Chrome. Either way, time for a new machine. Not just for software version compatibility, but I can't imagine that any machine that still runs XP is going to be a pleasant experience on today's internet.

That's a no go Frank. I think it has to do with the upgrade Spark Spark did the other day. Anyway, I'll just have to get along with Windows 10 on this laptop. Thanks for the reply.

I actually have an Fujitsu tablet running XP and it has Chrome installed ( hung onto since it can talk to the fuel injection in an older motorcycle. I started it up about 20 minutes ago I am on Blade Forums right now but I haven't logged in yet (it took 20 minutes from hitting the power button to get to that point). I will log in and see how functional this place is.

OK so I was able to log in and view posts and photos albeit very very slow, at one point I lost the will to live long enough to see the pipes screensaver start up.

I can't upload photos so I wasn't able to test that feature.

I'd say just get a Chromebook unless you have other more demanding computing tasks.
