Wtf usps

Hey forum!! :)

Sooooo.. I recently purchased a kimura off of bladehq (great selection and prices), I have been tracking my purchase since the day next day, I was supposed to get my package according to usps tracking on the 17th it is now the 19th still no balisong.. On the tracking number it says delivery status not updated on the 18th...I called usps they said they would open an investigation and send it to my local usps to see what could have happened and they told me they would call me with any information... havnt had a single call.. I call my local usps... they kindly put me on hold for 35 whole minutes just to hang up.. I call back and im put on hold for another 5 then asked my information and told I would be called in 5 minutes.. its been 8 hours, no phone call.. I have not received a notice from the delivery guy and the tracking has not been updated at all today.. I honestly don't know what im going to do? has anyone had any problems similar to this with usps?? and if so what should I do.

Same thing happened to me. Minus the 35 minute call. But they opened an investigation and got it sorted out pretty fast. I got the package the day they called about the investigation.
 
USPS has really slipped lately. I sent 2 packages to the same address, same day. One was Priority, one was first class. The first class package arrived first. The priority arrived 2 whole days later. And a similar lapse in tracking was noted. In fact, the fellow I sent the package to called me before the tracking was updated as delivered (about 2 hours). This may not be much help to your dilemma, I just wanted to put it out there as further evidence that USPS is heading downhill fast.
 
yea they sent it for investigation yesterday and I woke up today with no phone calls or anything and I called 3 times without anything getting resolved..
 
Yeah, with the ungodly rates they charge, and the low volume, it's hard to believe the ever make a mistake. Geez, be patient. They'll sort it out. It happens. Ship with the other 2 guys and it happens there too, but with a much higher price.
 
I see what you are saying but the poor customer service makes it just twice as bad.. telling me you will call me back in 5 minutes and then not do it at all is unacceptable in my opinion.. if the issue hasn't been sorted out, a simple call explaining what is going on would be the professional thing to do.
 
Ya I had it happen recently package toured the northeast. Went to pa to NY to ma then to nj back to NY then to me. Go figure
 
If I ship a package the same time as the trader who let's say lives in Texas, the packages will take the same routes. The trader will get his package on the expected date, and mine ALWAYS comes a day later, no exceptions. They take the same darn route and mine has never hit the expected date. I was always taught it's better to give the worst case scenario so a customer is happy when the package shows up early, than the best case and be dissapointed when it doesn't show up.
 
I appreciate all the replies guys thanks! really helpful.. I might come in person to the post office and speak to a supervisor to see If they find it and I can actually just get my package right then and there.
 
I've had a couple of packages go to the town of destination, only to come back to my hometown post office and back again for delivery.
 
I'm glad you got the knives :). I've been waiting for a while for my fedex tracking update. Still hasnt given me any info on where it is.

Fedex has been the worst in my experience. I've had horrible ordeals with them. Anyhow not to spook you or make you worried. A lot of it has to do with area as well. I remember in my old neighborhood in Northern California, the Fedex was great.
