No. I can answer it too. It was likely both.
 
I heard that was the only Busse to make it to the moon on Apollo XXX. It was used to cut a landing spot for the next crew module. NASA knew that those lunar trees were tough, so they sent the DFLE.

consider that if the person doesn't have a bladeforums account, and only knows the knives from magazines - they may not have any other outlet for sales. with only one venue, scarcity is greatly magnified, thus making a higher price seem more acceptable to potential buyers.
 
Busse knives are better investments than gold!

Diversify your portfolio with kydex also!

Very true but your a seasoned hog and therefore leaving us without the entertaining value of having a laugh at your expense, literally. Thanks Jerry for noobs. Where we I be if the market didn't have a few people willing to overpay for what they want. My kids now get to go to college ans someone gets a tool that will out live them!
 
I saw this one the other day. I really want a DFLE, with a nice sheath. I was amazed how hight the price was before, now my jaw dropped.

Must be a couple of people who refuse to loose?

Whatever, I'm still kicking myself for selling 60 oz. of Platinum for $685/oz just before Bush got the war started. Now it's over $1200/oz.

If I'd only known we were going to war. Precious metals always go up during a large scale war.
