SORRY..I neeed to sober up.

What exactly do you mean by "breaking the edge"? Did it chip, did it roll?

What happened man, comon'.......

Man that sucks bro. If I broke a custom under what I would consider normal use, the first thing I would do is contact the maker and try to work it out. All the makers I have done business with are stand up guys, and if I had a problem I am sure they would take care of it.

How did the knife fail bro, what happened?

Tony

I hate to mention it...it was while drilling a fireboard, I did nothing that it wasnt designed for. I am not gonna tell you what maker, or what happened..completely...I will say that I have pictures of the test...and that I have written the maker. Gene

Hmm, I wouldn't call that abuse at all. Might have been a problem with heat treat.

I was actually kinda nice to the knife...my friend started using all the cheap knives in his house to do the same test..even cheap chinese kitchen knives...none of them broke or twisted....I was pissed.

Broken knives suck....but at least you didn't lose an eye.

I am gonna work this one out with the maker..he responded in a friendly manner, so I am not gonna through him under the bus. If things go sour, then ofcourse I will open that can. I wilol say that I feel it is a local thing on the blade, the rest of the blade is working fine..and retaining an edge...so its a heat treat problem. Sorry for even mentioning it..but it is my birthday today, and I was drunk last night..partying, and stgarted getting sour over my knife woes....:D

Happy Birthday Gene! I hope you had a good one despite the broken blade.

I am glad the maker is working it out for you as he should be.

Don't worry about complaining to us, we're probably the only ones who understand;)

Happy BD Gene.

If the maker is part of the group of fine people here on this forum, you won't have any problems getting your knife replaced.

Happy bday Gene, Sorry bout the knife.... I had a little to much of the "creature" my self last night...Feeling the effects now though

thanks guys..wish that I got this hangover with you all. Gene
