WTK: Current market value for BM 44S?

Fox - I second David2584's suggestion, but keep in mind that since the BM42 came out, it's a whole different market. What balisongs were selling for three months ago was insane! People were paying as much as double what the BM42 is selling for now (retail!!!!) and the 42 is a better knife.
 
Thanks, guys. I checked Chuck's page but did not see a 44. I have just become interested in balisong's and am on the steep side of the learning curve. I know that prices have come down substantially since the 42 came out, hence my question about the current value of the 44. The most recent link I found on this board was a sale for a NIB 44 at $135 in May. The knife has been offered to me as part of a trade and I want to make a fair offer. Any further opinions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks again.

The 42 has cooled the market off a bit, but it's such a wonderful continuation of the Bali-Song line that it has rekindled interest in the older pieces. The 44 especially has been spurred by the 42 since the 42 does not have a tanto and is not going to in the near future (I'm sure they'll have a tanto variant eventually). So, tanto lovers still have to find a 44.

Right now, an NIB 44 is in the $180-$200 range.

I think it is a steal. Quite frankly though I think the stainless ones are better than the 42's OFCOURSE I speak liek a fool since I have not beat up my 42 yet. I ust love heavier handles. you need not worry about being fair cause you're gonna vbe on the up on this trade =)
