I have a 2"x72" belt sander for sale that I built myself. It was built using the NWG (No Weld Grinder) plans online. I built this around 1.5 years ago and have used it almost daily since, it is a strong grinder that works well! This type of belt sander is commonly used in knife making and sharpening and is a HUGE step up from a smaller single speed grinder like a craftsman or harbor freight grinder. I just upgraded to a much more expensive belt sander so I no longer need this one.

It has a 3hp Leeson TEFC single phase 220v motor on it with a 3 step pulley system. Comes with the flat platen attachment (w/ the platen plate being jb welded with pyrex on it), slack belt attatchment, a contact arm, a new pulley belt, and a tool rest attachment. The only contact wheels it comes w/ are the 2" ones on the platen, if you want more they can be purchased from USA knife maker supply. If you want to run it at higher speeds you will have to work w/ the tracking a little bit as it is very slightly off (see video) but I just didn't feel like fooling w/ it. I am asking SOLD locally will ship if desired but you will have to pay shipping. I can keep the motor so you can pick up a new one (I can give you a place to get a 1.5-2hp single phase motor for about $140 or so) and I can knock the price down about another $100.

I wish there was a grinder like this when I was shopping for my first one.
Good deal!

Just updated the price... had several inquiries but no one has gotten it yet, ready to get this off of my shop floor!
