I have a Schrade SCHF9 - NOT the newer version which is the "SCHF9N* when they apparently switched to inferior steel. This is the older, more sought after version. 1095, never cut anything but paper. Solid and sharp factory edge. Hard to find - kind of a cool tank. Interesting grip. The handle on the SCHF9 has 3 finger choils and a large palm swell making the handle very easy to hold with or without gloves. Additionally, the combination of the handle shape and tough rubber scales make this a very comfortable knife to use. SCHF9’s cordura sheath is well made and has a heavy duty plastic insert with an adjustable retention strap for right or left hand carry.

I also have a CRKT F.T.W.S. FOR THOSE WHO SERVE knife. Designed by Allen Elishewitz. Dual Plain Edge in Black Powder Coat. Textured Glass Reinforced Nylon Handle for Exceptional Grip. Reinforced Nylon Molle Compatible Sheath w/Insert. The well-designed handle features a slight angle to the blade, which gives the FTWS excellent geometry in cutting, presenting the edge to the cutting surface in a proper manner. The Zytel grip offers a good gripping surface with plenty of adhesion and hex head screws secure the grips to the full tang handle. The Pommell is—you guessed it—the Skull Crusher type. The CRKT sheath is black nylon with a hard plastic insert, fastex buckle cover and a utility pouch on the face to carry a sharpening stone. There is an adjustable (and removable) leg strap attached at the lower end for securing the sheath to your thigh rather than having it swing freely.
