This is a Jim Downs custom made linerlock. It has carbon fiber scales, damascus bolsters, blue anodized titanium along the back and middle. The liners appear to be bronze maybe and the insides are jeweled, nice touch. Inside is stamped "DOWNS". Blade is flat ground but it is not marked so I am not sure what type of steel it is. File work on thumb stud. Pocket clip and padded case included.

8 1/2" overall, 4 3/4" closed, 3 5/8" blade. This is a nice sized knife with a lot of expensive work and materials in it. It has been lightly used and carried. It may have been sharpened as well. It failed the spine whack test so I am selling it. It is almost the perfect carry knife for me but I am afraid of the lock failing so I am going to sell it. The bolsters and most of the knife looks to be made to be taken apart with simple tools so if you know what you are doing, you may be able to adjust it. Lock up is rock solid and there is no play. The action is smooth as well so there may not be a big issue here, it may just be a simple return trip to Jim Downs or a adjustment you can do yourself. I am not going to work on a custom knife for fear of ruining it.

Most Jim Downs seem to sell for $500-800 that I have seen. I will sell this one for $400 plus whatever shipping method you choose. Add 4% for paypal as well.

Thanks, kgriggs8@netzero.net

I think this is a very good price for a knife from this maker with these materials. Also, this is no tiny knife, check the size, it is about the size of a Spyderco Military or similar. Feels nice in the hand.

Great knife, used to be mine and was my first custom. Just an FYI as I mean no offence and don't wish to jump on your for sale thread, but the bolsters are anodized Titanium, not damascus. The liners are anodized Ti and jeweled, not brass. The blade is ATS-34. Best of luck with your sale.

G3,
No offense, I appreciate the extra info. The bolster look like damascus but you would know better than anyone. I think that covers it.

It looks much better in person than in the pic. That pic is the only one I have so that is all I have to work with.

Taking reasonable offers. I will consider trades as well as long as they are similar in value and something I want.

Not interested in fixed blade unless they are large camp knives like a RTAK II. Anything smaller and I won't use it. Mostly folders.

I have sent this back to Jim Downs and he fixed the liner lock problem. It now locks up solid. He also included a certificate with all the important info about the knife.

It is back up for sale for $350 shipped and I will pay the Paypal fees. Thanks.

BTT,
I want to sell this so someone make me an offer. Otherwise, it is going up on E-bay where I know it will sell.
