I have a second owner (my Dad’s “user”) PCC Barry Wood Folder from I think mid 80s. This was Benchmade after they were Bali-Song and before they were Benchmade.
I believe blade steel is VG10. The edge appears factory uncut, it is absurdly sharp, hollow ground, mirror polish. The most notable wear is the show side blade has light scratches from the opening mechanism. Off centered towards clip side when closed but no rub. Stainless steel scales.
It’s a scissor opening folder opened by breaking the magnet with your thumb at the base of the handle. When it’s opened and locked it’s impressively sturdy. Opening this knife is a danger to your thumb. If you’re not careful you will lose your thumb prints. Speaking from experience.
You could say it’s rare, they are available for silly prices elsewhere. If you’re a Benchmade fan this is a cool piece of their lore. No box with this one.
$130 no trades—building the knife fund for a big purchase.
Thanks for looking. Asking me anything. Happy Sunday.
