The 1111 is made from a huge chunk of sabre ground sr101. 11 inch blade that is a full quarter inch thick. So just imagine a becker bk2 that is 2 inches longer than a bk9 with excellent steel and you get picture. Weight distribution definitely favors the blade and will make quick work of any chopping job. Res-c handles that do an except job of absorbing shock and work well in cold weather because they cover the tang completely. This knife arrived to me in unused condition. I couldn't help but chop one branch and that is the wood you see stuck in the coating in the pictures. This could be easily gotten out with a stiff brush but I dont have one at the moment. Also comes with Mashed Cat Kydex sheath.
