Here's one you don't see for sale every day. This is a mint condition Uwe Hoffmann Ranger. I have no idea what steel was used to make this knife, but Mr. Hoffmann has been known to use ATS-34, D-2, 440C, and 154CM. The knife will not come with a sheath, since I did not get one when I bought the knife from the original owner.

I will accompany the knife with a mint copy of the May '98 issue of "Tactical Knives", which is the only magazine I've ever seen to review the maker and his knives.

I don't know if Uwe is making knives any longer or not. The last mention of him on this forum was in 2003, and no-one seemed to know for sure, then.

The price for this really hard to find knife is just $350 (now SOLD), plus shipping. I accept either Postal money orders or PayPal(+3.5%) in payment. CONUS sales only.

I'm not seeing a picture, but it could be the websense filters here at work. How big is this knife? If it's the model I'm thinking of, he made it in several sizes.

Uwe Hoffman, one of the seriously under-rated blade makers of our time!

Charlie, dunno if you were aware of this, but remember the knife the nutcase SEAL used to slice his arm in The Abyss, prior to his trying to hack up Ed Harris? That knife was an Uwe Hoffman and i have had the pleasure of playing around with that specific model.

Mr. Hoffman, not to be confused with Kevin Hoffman, formerly of IL and now of FLA, makes a hell of a combat blade and for a very reasonable price. I am not aware if he is still at work or not, but this is an opportunity with a capital O for someone.

If you have not had a buyer in a few days, drop me an email and let's make this work.

Thanks Parker, I didn't know that about the movie. The next time I watch it, I'll pay more attention.

Actually.... the "Abyss" knife was a George Lainhart knife that was featured on the cover of fighting knives in the summer of 1990. :)
