OK, I think the consensus from the Bali discussion forum thread is that I may be telling the truth here, so I'll put it back up for sale...
I received this from Jeff at The Cutlery Shoppe back in the mid 80's when I was one of their wholesale accounts, so it didn't come from a flea market someplace. Whether it was from a CS run with black blades or what is anybody's guess. All we know for sure is that you just don't see many, and I got it from a bonafide PCC distributor. Marked "Pacific Cutlery Japan" on one side of the blade, parallel to the spine, and it has the butterfly (w/ Bali-Song across the lower middle of it) and the ® next to the butterfly near the tang on the other side.
Black handles, black blade. Like an idiot, I sharpened the blade and the swedge w/ a Lansky. Hey, I was in my mid-20s and stupid. And they were plentiful and cheap.
Lockup us still tight in the open position, locks closed loosely.
