No there is nothing wrong with the sheath and that is exactly how I received it from Okuden. I believe it is to secure the blade a little tighter at the tip, but I will ask Brian and post tomorrow unless he happens to read this and responds. However, that is doubtful as he is usually very busy.

I know it's a little late, but.....

As GPB stated, the "dent" in the tip of the lower sheath was put there to eliminate a rattle.
