Greetings all,
Well, I think this beauty deserves a better existence than to be stored in my gear locker. It needs to go to a family that will enjoy years of memory building service from this fine blade. It is an outstanding example of an all-around field/camp knife. Good overall size, nice subtle sub-hilt style design with a gentle thumb ramp. I'll probably regret letting this one slip way, but if it goes to a good home, I'd be happy with that. If you're not familiar with Sandown Forge, check him out...he makes some very nice blades that pay tribute to Medal of Honor winners (the blades are named after them).
Specifically, Private Kanell earned his Medal of Honor in Korea for smothering not one, but TWO! grenades in a battle. In doing so, he made the ultimate sacrifice. That's a MOH well deserved.
As per usual, I'll let the photos do the talking.
Specs:
- Sandown Forge 'Kanell'
- 5 3/4" CM 154 SS Blade, RC 59
- 10 1/2" Overall
- Blue G10 scales with black and red liners
- 304 SS tube pins
- Tooled leather sheath
- Date of Completion: 1-18-2010
- Use: Zero
- Included Letter of Authenticity (but I'll redact/black out my name).
And per as per usual, I'd offer a 24 hr. non-use/no-modification/alteration inspection period.
I'm asking just $195 shipped for this piece of 'Made in America' craftsmanship dedicated to a true hero.
Trade wise, I'd like trade this of a nice, high grade sharpener like the Apex Pro in like new or very lightly used condition. However, I am fairly open minded on this set of stuff...I'd be interested in hearing about a Emerson CQC8, Lionsteel, various outdoor gear, Rudy Project Shooting glasses, decent watches, etc. Not tons of interest in most generics like Spyderco or Benchmade.
Any trade offer must be in excellent++/LNIB condition. **If you've done any home mods, I'm probably not interested.**
Requirement: Any traded knife mailed to me must be PROPERLY packaged. That means a proper-sized BOX, bubble wrap, and packing materials. I'm getting tired of receiving knives with what appears to be a grand total of about 15 seconds of packing effort
If you don't have anything I'm looking for in trade and/or are interested in purchasing and/or have a counter-offer, please do NOT ask me what I'll take for it--email/pm me an offer. Do your research...Low-ballers will be ignored. :thumbdn:
Please do not waste my time. If you say 'Deal,' I expect you to honor your commitment. Have your financials in order before making offers!!!!.
The usuals: USA only, must be 21 years old, USPS Money Order only. I reserve the right to withdraw at any time, reject any/all offers, with or without selling/trading, trade/sell to who I want with or without explanation, etc etc etc.
May be listed elsewhere as well.
Email or PM with any questions.
Thanks for looking.
