WW2 British Army Motorcycle Dispatch Riders Coat dated 1944 manufactured by H Bean & Co Ltd., size 2 with War Department arrow.
Very large due to it's intended use over full field gear, I'd estimate a size 45-50 or so (I usually wear a 38-42 and it's quite large on me), too large and heavy for practical wear!
Fairly stiff due to age and the tremendous weight of the canvas - the fabric used on this coat is comparable to the thickness used for tarps or old military tents. HEAVY and smells a bit of formerly rubberized canvas.
Structurally fairly sound with no major damage but a few ragged edges, missing a belt loop, other minor wear, and most of the taped seams will need attention.
Please see the photographs for an idea of the condition, staining, etc., and don't hesitate to contact me for additional images. I did not notice that any major pieces were missing or damaged, some period repairs are definitely noticeable. Still in overall good condition, considering the age!
Open to all reasonable offers!
