I have a Griptilian that I would like to trade. It is used, but still in excellent condition. It comes in the original box and paperwork. There is a VERY TINY chip (?) or defect on the spine of the blade about 3/4 inch from the tip, but you really can't see it unless you're looking and feeling for it. I talked to Benchmade and they will swap the blade for $25 for a satin or $35 for black, but the chip didn't bother me so I didn't ever send it in. I asked if I could have the black scales switched to tan when I sent it in for a new blade, they said it was fine as long as it was switched to an existing Griptilian scale color, just thought I'd let you know that. I don't really know what I want to trade for, I'm open to folders (especially Spyderco and Benchmade), fixed blades, and multi tools (like the LM Charge and Wave series). I don't mind adding cash if you're offering something WORTH the extra cash (ZTs, BM Rift, Spyderco PM2, ect.). I would even be interested in XDM gear, Hybrid IWB Holster that would fit a XDM Compact/3.8 (Crossbreed, FoxX, or similar), fiber optic sights, or 19 round 9mm XDM mags.

Its impossible to get a picture of the chip with my camera skills (or lack there of) which is why I don't have a picture of it.

I would just like to add that I like full size (and over sized) knives (especially folders), wide blades, and unusual blade shapes catch my attention. I like recurves, tantos, clip points, deep bellied blades, and wide blades (wide from the edge to the spine of the blade). In fixed blades I'm looking for something under 12 inches total length, kydex sheath is a huge plus. I like to carry a medium sized fixed blade when I go shooting so that's what I'm after, 7-12 inches total length is ideal, and again I like wide blades with nice shapes.

Also, I would be interested in pink, good quality and condition, folders (for my Wife). Thank you all for your time, interest, and offers.

If its just a chip their (BM) Lifesharp ($5) service should make it look brand new other than bringing the edge down a little shallower. They fixed up one of my folders that 1/8 of the tip snapped off. Looked brand new afterwards and they re-coated some of the black finish that was scuffed off. So unless their service changed they should be able to take care of it w/o having to swap out the blade. If someone picks this folder up should keep this in mind as well, other than that good luck with the trade.

OP states that the chip is along the spine of the knife... Shouldn't affect much if you're not beating on it.

discdoggin is correct, the chip is on the spine, less than an inch from the tip. If it was on the edge I would have fixed it myself. I have replied to all emails, I think. If you emailed me and I didn't reply, please email me again.

I would like to add that the lockup is solid, no play in any direction. The blade is a little off center, 60/40 to the left if you're looking at the tip of the blade in the closed position, but it is nowhere close to rubbing. The edge is clean and the bevels are even. I take care of my knives, I use a Lansky Diamond Deluxe sharpening system (70 grit diamonds - 2000 grit ceramics) and a Spyderco SharpMaker with the Ultra Fine Rods to sharpen my knives, and finish on balsa with 1 micron and .5 micron Wicked Edge Diamond Pastes, which brings it to a nice, reflective, razor sharp edge. The lock is also very smooth, its not sticky or stiff at all. There are no scratches on neither the blade, clip, or handle.
