Hello all. I have three blades here that I am going to put up for trade. Understand that I like these blades a lot so I'm only gonna trade for something I really want. What I have is...
1. Busse AK-47 in INFI. It has had the coating removed. I no longer have the sheath in the picture. It comes without a sheath. Blade has been used. It's been been sharpened so it's not a safe queen by any means. No dings, knicks, or chips or any kind of damage at all. It's just used.
2. Same goes for my Boss Street. Coating is gone, it's been used and sharpened but still in excellent shape. Comes with kydex sheath though.
3. And I also have my user full tang kephart here. Has the uncommon dark curly maple handles and brass pins. Hand rubbed satin finish (which removed the logos and words) and RAZOR sharp convex edge done by me by hand. Comes with sharp shooter sheath with fire steel loop. I stretched out the loop to fit a .50" firesteel. You can find those at goingear. The firesteel nor the striker come with the knife. This is just for the Kephart and Sheath.
Here is what I'm looking for. I'm wanting a traditional japanese tanto or O-tanto. When I say traditional I don't mean one made of tahamagane. I know those can be super pricey... Don't get me wrong, I'd like one but I'd rather stick with a super high quality modern blade over possibly a beaten and junky older one as I will be using this... so it's no show piece. I would love something like a Wally Hayes or RJ Martin or something. I think a Phil Hartsfield will probably be too expensive. But all those might even be too pricey. It needs to be 20" OAL or less inlcuding Saya. I prefer ito rather than shirasaya, and I prefer a tsuba of some kind. The ones that are just a blade with ito on them scare me as I'm just sure my hand will run up on the blade. But I will listen to all quality offers even if they aren't in my prefered config. Kinda wanting to stay away from Cold Steel, and though the higher end Paul Chens seem nice, I haven't found one in a configuration I'd call perfect. But I'm willing to listen to good offers. Doesn't have to have a curve either. Straight blades are also welcome.
Only other blades I am interested in right now is some kind of short gladius type short sword. Something like a super nice Smatchet or Gage Gatchet or Pugio. Would also consider a single edged short sword with spear point (gladius type shape). Same length restrictions... needs to be 20" OAL or less including sheath or scabbard
Reason is... I'm gonna carry this everyday and my bag is 18" top to bottom. And 20.2" bottom left corner to top right corner (Diagonal)... so anything over 20" OAL is a waste for me as It will just stay at the house. I alreadt have a Busse Gladius but it's too big. But something that shape but shorter would rule. Or if Busse made a smaller version of the ruck?
