Contact me at keithgilbert33@windstream.net as I don't check PMs often
OK... So I have an older straight handled mean street I want to trade. I am the second owner and the original owner was a soldier and took this knife to both Afghanistan and Iraq. It's a user and not a safe queen. When I got it the coating was very worn and there was LIGHT rust around the wear line. So so there is mild pitting on the blade. It isn't deep at all and a trip to Busse would almost certainly buff it out. But I removed the coating so that I could better care for the steel. I gave it a hand rub finish (No machines were used) I did it by hand with 1000, 1500, and 2000 grit and then finished it off with flitz. So it's basically been buffed. I'm gonna say this knife is .25" thick but I swear it's a little more in the handle area. The edge is in excellent shape and is razor sharp. If the pits don't bother you this is a perfect EDC... if you want to fix it up and remove them it would take minimal effort and come out good as new. I just didn't bother since they didn't bother me. It comes with a simple kydex sheath... the sheath holds on to the knife well enough to store it.. but I would carry it in it as it might let go under a good enough jolt. But it's a sheath nontheless. These don't come around often and the ONLY reason I'm letting it go is that I need something in the 4.5" blade range like a badger. So that is what I'm looking to trade it for. Below are a list of items I would consider trading it for.
Micarta handles only (No G-10 please)
Straight Handled Badger Attack (I know... yeah right) [Users are perfect]
BA-E (With lanyard hole in bottom... I know some didn't have this)
Badger III (at least 3/16ths... No ABAs please)
BATACLE with a good sheath
MAYBE a Public Defender (But I kinda want something in spear or drop point)
Other Busse Knives in the 4" to 4.5" range at least 3/16ths thick I don't know about
Perhaps a Lean Mean Street (not sure as I kinda want something a little bigger)
Strider Folders that are absolute mint with at least a 4" spear or drop point blade and black or green handles if any.
I might consider customs (No fancy bone or wood handles though... I'm a micarta guy)
I might consider other Busse Knives... but I'd really like a small tough field knife. Not interested in anything the same size or smaller than the MS though.
