I'm tossing out a feeler to see what kind of offers I get. I'm by no means in any hurry to get rid of this thing. But the handle scales don't quite suit my hands and before I go altering it to fit me... Maybe I'll see what else is out there. According to Mr. Mosier he only made 2 of these. One was satin finished and this one was hand rubbed. He also said he'd never hand rub a blade this large again as it was FAR too labor intensive. So I consider this one to be the more desirable finish of the two as it was done by hand. It's about 3/16ths thick with around a 12" blade and is lightening fast. Not so sure it would make a good batoning knife... but it would make one hell of a head remover simply because it moves so quick, is well balanced for a knife it's size, and is razor sharp. It's made of CPM S30V and is an amazing piece. It's the only one like it anywhere. Nice Kydex sheath too. Unused, has some kydex marks but other than that... it's a safe queen. Has file work on the butt which I thought was cool... make a nasty impact weapon on the bottom. The lanyard in the pic is gone.
What I'm looking for... Not really sure. Something nice. Perhaps a custom Japanese style short sword like an O-tanto or Small Waki. No junk... must be quality. I find I am losing my taste for traditional Ito so if it's got a paracord handle, or perhaps just handle slabs... that's cool. No American Tantos please. Other large knives / short swords will be entertained. I'm not really into super high dollar folders as I feel folders should be used and I wouldn't use a one of a kind folder. But I would consider something like a REGULAR Large Sebenza, Umnumzan or however you spell it, or Strider AR, perhaps other large Strider frame locks. But I'd need extra on your end with most of those (I know some striders are crazy high dollar though). Will consider some Busse pieces but I'm kinda good on those right now. Busses I'd be most interested in are Straight Handle models, NO-E, BA-E, Large and Medium PBF, NICKS, Police Recruit, The knuckle Knife (without serrations). Perhaps a Spyderco S90V Manix 2, Ti-Military, or Ti-Military. I'm also in the market for a Maxpedition OD Green Kodiak as well.
Also looking for a Glock 19 (prefer Gen II without finger grooves) Also looking for a Smith 629 with 4" or less barrel. Other Quality 45s and 9mms will be entertained. FTF if you're a Georgian, or to my FFL otherwise.
