I am kicking around the idea of trading my used once ESEE Junglas. It is in excellent condition and I am looking for a trade for a CS Gurkha Kukri. My ESEE has the sheath and I would expect the sheath with the CS. Let me know. I am gonna try and take some pictures.

I own both. both are good knives. I've used both extensively. i put a forced patina on the kukri because it is uncoated. the kukri's sheath is well put together and designed but in no way as good as the junglas's. in less you're good with a belt sander or have a very skinny means of sharpening the concave part of the kukri is a challenge to sharpen. and of course the junglas's warranty can't b beat. If u're just looking for the cool factor and looking for something for home security I would go with the kukri. I just did a week long trek through Temagami Ontario in dense dense bush with a buddy, my dog and esee's; izula 2, rc4 and junglas and without a doubt the junglas was my most used knife in a practical wilderness situation. in my opinion I wouldn't sell that junglas u'll regret it! if u want a kukri save your money and purchase it later. the novelty wears off quick. i actually find my cs magnum kukri machette chops better than sk5. Although does cause a lot more blistering on the hands. cheers!

Thanks for the feed back. I havent found a big need for the Junglas as of yet nor would I probably with the Kukri. They are very similar in size and weight. It is nice to know that the ESEE warranty is the best around. I never felt the Junglas chopped as well as I was anticipating. The handle doesnt fit the butt of my hand very well so during heavy chopping I am regripping a ton. I have medium size handles and I find that grip to be quite big. I do love micarta but overall that blade is soo long, heavy and one dimensional I dont find myself needing it. I have a few machetes that get more use at the moment not to mention a portable saw. I thought the Kukri would get more use. But might be in the same boat. The sharpening is definitely the kicker with the kukri. So many of the forum members absolutely love the kukri blades. I have handled a few but never used. A few friends who have spent a ton of time in the sandbox swear by them. Might need to rethink this but thanks for offering up some great info...I am thinking I might not trade it.
